Before you Say I Do - Part 2

Before you kiss the bride, before you say I do

Many problems people are facing in their marriages today is as a result of either what they did or failed to do while single. As a matter of fact, the quality of singlehood is what determines the quality of marriage, whether or not it is going to be fulfilling or not.

Singleness is not a time for frivolities. It is a time to prepare for whatever you want in life. It is a time to make choices and decisions. Choices and decisions that leave an indelible mark on one's life and destiny. It is also a time of foundation laying. Whatever you will eventually become in life, this is the time to lay the foundation. Singleness is also a time for seed sowing. Seeds you're going to harvest in adult and the rest of your life.

So, among the things you need to do is to make sure you discover the purpose of God for your life. Don't even think of getting married when your life's purpose is still unknown to you.

There is a purpose for everything under the sun. There is a purpose for every life. You are not a mistake or an accident. You are a deliberate creation of God, born with a purpose to fulfill, an assignment to carry out and a mission to accomplish. You are a creation of purpose!

Listen, the discovering of your life's purpose is the greatest discovery you can ever make in your life. Until you discover who you are created to be and what you are created to do, you will never be yourself, you will continue to be someone else and continue to do someone's else assignment!

Your purpose determines who you marry and that is the reason you must discover your purpose before marriage. Before God gave Adam his wife, Eve, He first of all gave him a purpose-to dominate, rule and govern the earth(Gen.1:26-28), to take care of the garden(Gen. 2:15) and to name the animals(verse 19-20).

Until Adam discover his purpose, he was alone. Therefore, until you discover your purpose in life, don't even think of getting married.

Brother, stop looking for who to marry now when you have not discovered your purpose in life, look for the purpose of God for your life! Your wife is in your purpose! When you are busy pursuing the purpose of God for your life, like Adam, your wife will come your way.

Sister, stop looking for who to marry you when you haven't discovered your life's purpose. Your purpose is what determines who you marry. Get busy pursuing your purpose, husband will come naturally without you looking for it!

Among other ways you can discover your purpose in life is through prayer. Go to God in prayer and ask Him to show you your life's purpose. You are born to make a contribution to your generation, ask God to reveal it to you. And that He will do (Matthew 7:7-8).
